Repeat Offender

Well...not really. Okay, kinda. Let me explain...you know a few days ago I posted the cuffed jeans with my wedges? Well I wore it again, kind of. This time I wore:
Tank Top: Target, Skinny Leg Cargo Pants: SL8, Cardigan: Bass, Wedges: Forever21, Watch: Michael Kors

Ruffle detail on shirt

Although it's the same styling idea, I definitely tried to switch it up. I also am very weird lately about dressing, it's either very equestrian-inspired or military-inspired. Riding boots vs. combat boots, chambray vs. olive green. Polished vs. grungy. I am having an identity crisis, Ralph Lauren Polo fighting GI Jane. Anyone else having a clash of styles?

If You Like Piña coladas...I mean Margherita

I talk about having girl-crushes/style-icons all the time, but for some reason the person I always turn back to (and surprisingly never posted about yet!!!) is Margherita Missoni. Not only is she the heiress to the amazing Missoni fashion house, but is a model, actress, and designer. She completely embodies the elegant bohemian look, an effortless traveling gypsy. Although she wears tons of fabulous prints with wild colors and sequins galore she also masters wearing structured pants, dresses and blazers. Her closet is certainly lust worthy.

Whose closet do you covet?

I Love a Bargain

Nothing gets me in a better mood than a good deal...and I got TWO good deals yesterday. The first one being the blazer I am wearing in this post, on sale for $5.00 from Urban Behavior (score!) and the second, free pitchers of Sangria & Tequila shots at Charlie O's last night! This outfit is what I wore to the bar last night, which turned to be one of the best nights out that I have had in a while...
Blazer: Urban Behavior, Tank Top: Target, Jeans: Forever21, Wedges: Forever21 (gifted from S, my photographer!), Watch: Michael Kors, Necklace: Love Shack (store in Delray Beach, FL)
This outfit was comfortable and casual, but I still felt pretty and confident because I was wearing some pretty amazing wedges! What makes you feel confident?

Jumping in my Jumpsuit!

First off let me please say thank you! I have received such sweet comments lately and it really makes me smile. I love the camaraderie between bloggers, maybe I am getting corny, but I just hit 50 followers and it is really exciting for me! The fact that some of my blog-icons read and comment on what I have to say is just mind-blowing...I guess we all inspire each other! With all that said, if you would like to follow please do, don't be shy, and comment too! I love interacting with the lovely and stylish ladies that I have been virtually-introduced to lately (virtually introduced? Does that sound creepy?)
This is my outfit from last night...long story but not many people got to see it! Thursday-bar-night at my school is a bit out of control. My friends and I should of realized that getting to the bar a little EXTREMELY late would cause us to wait outside in the freezing, arctic tundra that is Narragansett, and letting us in? One-in-one-out? No thank you! So we jumped around in the cold, hugging strangers for warmth (body heat is necessary in the cold)...then at 12:10pm, we quickly ran back to the car, defrosted at home and called it a night. Since we were standing outside the bar with about 100 people, in the dark (and everyone was too cold to check out each other's outfits) I will definitely be wearing this beautiful jumpsuit and outfit again...it's too pretty not to. The outfit consists of:
Jumpsuit: H&M, Peep-toe Boots: Wet-Seal, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelets: Tiffany&Co. (gifted by Mom) and H&M

Happy Friday! Mine will be filled with errands, homework (or I will attempt) and a fun night out! What are your plans for tonight?

Elie Saab is pretty FAB!

Yeah my title is pretty corny, but seriously the Elie Saab haute couture Spring/Summer 2011 collection is amazing! It is feminine, delicate, soft, sparkly, flowy, detailed, and just darn beautiful.
School was canceled today due to a major snowstorm that left my car and house piled in tons of fluffy white snow...and ice. I spent the day doing some homework and being silly with my roommates...oh and pushing my roommate E's car out of the snowbank so we can get in some cardio at the gym (we are fitness enthusiasts!). With all this cold-snow-winter-ness surrounding me I need some pretty inspirations to get me ready for spring...enter Elie Saab! Enjoy the pictures!

What's inspiring you right now? I'd love to know!

Internship Loving

Today was the first "official" day of my internship in office. It was so much fun and I am starting a ton of projects for various clients (I don't know how much I can blog about, I will definitely ask so I can share some fun stories with you all!) The dress code was very casual so that is exactly what I did:
Cardigan: Gap, Button Down Shirt: clearance rack at Marshall's, Jeans: Forever21, Boots: Bass, Belt: gifted from Mom, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelet: H&M

I wish I had more time to blog about my day but I have so much work to do!
And the snow won't stop falling...I just want to play (sadly I must work-on...)
How is everyone's week going? Are you guys as busy as me?
Ohhh...and a special thanks to Sydney for helping me with the pictures!

Last 1st Day

So today is my LAST 1st day of undergrad, how is this even possible? Although it feels as if time has passed by quicker than I could ever have imagined, I feel as if I accomplished a lot during my 3.5 (so far, almost 4) years at URI. I am not going to sadly post about my fears for the future (although I can't promise that won't happen eventually), but instead I will happily and excitedly tell you all that my roommate S took some great shots of me for your viewing pleasure. Just looking at the quality of these pictures makes me smile! It is so much better than my Photo booth Mac application, the pictures are so crisp and clean!!! Anyway, she has agreed to become my official blogging photographer so here we go blogosphere--I will only post clear and pretty images of myself for the rest of our union (which I hope is forever, because I thoroughly enjoy you and my blog friends!) I am wearing:
Vest: Mossimo for Target, Stripped T-shirt: American Eagle, White Long Sleeve: Target, Leggings: The Girls Leggings (from Marshalls), Leather Boots: Bass, Belt: gifted/borrowed from Mom, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelet: H&M

Don't you love dressing up for the first day of classes for the semester? What do you like to wear?

School...huh?

Today has been so busy! I have spent a majority of my day psyching myself out getting ready for my first last day of classes tomorrow. Here is a little picture that is getting my school-books-papers-tests-new-pens juices flowing! I will be back with an outfit post tomorrow...and it's a good one just warning you!

Functional Fashion

It is no small secret that I love wearing black! Black clothing, accessories, shoes, eyeliner...everything! The list just keeps going on and when I get dressed up it seems as if I am in a constant state of blending in with the night-time surroundings, just call me "night hawk" (okay, Step Brothers reference...I have watched that movie too many times over winter break). I honestly think I love black so much because it is functional. I can pair any black item with any other black item and look chic, timeless and pretty effortlessly-cool (if I do it right that is). Do you have a favorite color that you wear non-stop?
Last night I was reunited with all of my friends who I haven't seen since the end of last semester and it is funny how time can heal all wounds, broken hearts, and "major-but-not-so-major" conflicts (do you get my girl-talk?). Over a couple pitchers of white sangria, and tons of laughter and poking fun at each other we called it a night. Waking up this morning and seeing the beautiful Rhode Island sunrise reminded me of all simple but hilarious memories we made last night and it really makes me smile...it's going to be a good day!
Last night I wore:
Blouse: Express long sleeve (silk blend), Pants: Converse for Target stretch legging, Belt: braided silver from F21, Shoes: F21 Wedge gifted from S, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelet: H&M

Make-Me-Up!

Something has been bothering me lately, and it's something so silly, yet all girls can relate to what I am about to say. But first a little back story...I used to be a big tom-boy (back in the day) and never liked makeup, pretty clothes, or anything "girly" for that matter. It all changed, actually it seemed to be an overnight transition, and I have been consumed by glitter, sparkles, 5-inch heels, and pretty colors ever since. However somewhere in between this process I never fully learned how to apply my makeup. I do okay (even pretty darn good sometimes if I do say so myself) but it lacks a certain "OOMPH" that I really want and need. Wearing makeup makes me feel good about myself; makes me feel pretty, confident and ready to tackle the world head on. So...I pretty much have most things mastered (or done well enough to my liking) besides eye makeup, which to me seems to be the hardest. I can't handle the "smokey eye," it's too much for my face however I love the dark eye makeup in the pictures below. Does anyone have any tips to get results like these? In my dreams I have a celebrity makeup artist powdering my nose and lining my eyelids every day...oh to dream!

Black, Brown & Blue, Oh My!

Hey Guys! I am running out but I wanted to do an outfit post! I am heading to the mall with two of my friends/fellow volunteers from StyleWeek! I dressed up (a little) because who knows where we will end up...we are going to Providence after all. I never thought I could wear navy blue, black and brown at the same time but I guess I proved myself wrong. Today I'm wearing:
Blazer: Dalia Collection, Tunic: clearance rack at Marshalls, Belt: gifted from Mom, Leggings: Target, Boots: boutique in NYC, Watch: Michael Kors

Camera Creeping like Crazy

I NEED WANT A NEW CAMERA...but the ones I am looking into are so expensive. Okay, okay, when I say, "looking into" I mostly mean typing "good digital SLR camera" into Google and seeing $800-$1,000 options which leads to my next thoughts, "no way compadre!" I know nothing about photography (except that one class I took in high school for my art credit) but I do know that I love taking pictures when I am on vacation, out with friends, and doing outfit posts for my blog...my Nikon Coolpix is just not cutting it. Every time I take a picture it looks pixilated and blurry so I must resort to the help of my friends cameras or use Mac Photobooth (which is decent but not the quality I am looking for). You see, I am a perfectionist, I need everything to be just so, and although I am learning to roll with the punches of things not being "perfect," I think having pride in the pictures I blog and post about is important. Therefore I need your help! What kind of cameras do you use? Where did you get them? Is eBay even a place to consider looking? I would ideally like something at the lower end of the camera-price-range...oh and easy to use because I'm a novice-beginner-so-make-my-life-easy-please-help-me-kind-of-girl!
Last night I met up with some friends at the bar. It's always nice to catch up over some red sangria...then white sangria...then tequila shots? Maybe I should cool it? It's my last semester though and classes didn't start yet, I think this makes it okay. Last night I wore:
Blazer: Dalia Collection (with leather wrap belt), Leggings: clearance at Marshalls (with leg zipper detail on back), Blouse: Mossimo for Target (silk blend), Boots: Sam Edelman, Watch: Michael Kors, Necklaces: gifted from Aunt
