The Bling Ring

Hey everyone! I hope you are all staying warm! I am sorry that this is going to be a really short post but I have so much homework to catch up on and internship tasks to complete (we are all working from home today due to the weather). However, I wanted to share a picture of this dazzler of a ring, the "bling ring" as I call it...the ring is part of the Couture Collection by G&G Creations, which is one of the clients I have been working with at my internship. Recently Alex McCord, of the Real Housewives of New York City, wore this exact ring to a Runway Show in Providence, RI (StyleWeek).
Okay, back to my work, stay warm today! I will be back with an outfit post tomorrow!
Do you like big statement pieces like this? Or are you a delicate and simple kind of girl?

Black, Brown & Blue, Oh My!

Hey Guys! I am running out but I wanted to do an outfit post! I am heading to the mall with two of my friends/fellow volunteers from StyleWeek! I dressed up (a little) because who knows where we will end up...we are going to Providence after all. I never thought I could wear navy blue, black and brown at the same time but I guess I proved myself wrong. Today I'm wearing:
Blazer: Dalia Collection, Tunic: clearance rack at Marshalls, Belt: gifted from Mom, Leggings: Target, Boots: boutique in NYC, Watch: Michael Kors

Gothic Sparkles

Last nights StyleWeek Providence was a lot of fun. I saw two great shows, one by Karen Beebe and another by Samuel Vartan. Beebe's show was very feminine with tons of sparkly fabrics & polka dots and filled with short jumpers & dresses. Vartan's show was very gothic inspired; low cut pieces in leather, lace and velvet.
While I was going through my blog feed I saw how Ramsey from Love, Ramsey is doing a "pantless" challenge, essentially wearing skirts and dresses instead of pants...pretty self explanatory right? (Check out her site to see how she's doing!) Anyway, the point is that I was definitely inspired to wear a skirt to the show tonight. While this body-con skirt that I am wearing doesn't seem so..."appropriate" for an internship, I think that since it is for a fashion show event, and I am wearing a long tunic over it makes it more..."acceptable"? Tonight I'm wearing:
Skirt: H&M body-con, Tights: Target, Tunic: Adrienne Vittadini, Belt: borrowed from Mom, Socks: stolen from Dad, Boots: Sam Edelman, Watch: Michael Kors

StyleWeek Providence Day # 2

Hello Lovelies! So my first day was a blast! My job at StyleWeek Providence yesterday was to check in the priority and front row seat guests. I know it sounds really glamorous but sadly there were no celebrities only fashion buyers...but it was still exciting. I also got to see two shows yesterday, Kara Wickman and Maria Del Carmen Mercado. While the Wickman show featured tons of flowers and rosettes with glitzy statement-jewelery the Mercado show was jungle inspired--lots of draping, tie-dye-ish looking prints and tons of bows. My favorite outfit of the night was one by Kara Wickman which featured flared deep purple trousers, a flowy black long sleeve top knotted at the waist and a big floppy hat! I am definitely going to try and take pictures at today's shows. Tonight I am wearing:
Blazer: Mossimo for Target, Blouse: Spence, Leggings: Converse brand for Target, Watch: Michael Kors, Shoes: booties from Payless

What do you think of the outfits?
Don't I look expensive? Haha, my shirt cost only $10!! I am an expert Marshalls shopper :)

Friday on a Sunday

I know, I know, I'm a little late with this outfit post...and this is my first OOTD (outfit of the day for you amateurs reading!) post in what seems like forever. This is what I wore to the bar on Friday night:
Gap silk kimono blouse, Forever21 dark wash jeggings, Silver buckle belt (borrowed from my Mom), Sam Edelman black boots (not pictured but seen here).
So I'm back from my little overnight road trip to UMASS to visit my sister. There were a few road blocks (once I was there, not on the road thankfully). But despite all our little tiffs (aka the road blocks) in addition to some bickering, I have never been so proud of my sister before. She has overcome so much this year and I am just such a happy big sister...and now I'm getting a little homesick. Hopefully the February InStyle, a hot shower, catching up on some blogs that I love, and some organizing will help me feel better! Tomorrow is my first day at my internship, working the event StyleWeek Providence so I am extremely nervous! I am definitely doing an outfit post tomorrow so check back!
What do you do to get over homesickness?

Unfashionably Me

So my lack of outfit posts lately makes me sad, I guess it's been a mix of three things:
  1. Stress: I know I am a notorious list maker but it seems like I have 1 million + things to do and it's only getting longer. It's as if I woke up two mornings ago and finally realized that I am getting older...I was so consumed with being a "kid in college" I didn't notice the world spinning around me...I guess you can say it's finally catching up to me, and very quickly I may add.
  2. Intimidated: I don't know if I have posted about this before, but in short my sister has amazing style, literally she can put anything on and make it look effortlessly cool. Although I try to wear some of the things she does, ultimately we have different tastes...but I can't help but be intimidated by her outfits. I guess in a weird way I am trying to find something so unbelievably cool that she says, "Wow Cass, I love that!"
  3. First week HOME: Basically ='s bumming it hardcore. I did find out that I need to head to my internship early for StyleWeek in Providence so I guess I won't be bumming it for long.
Today I just wore the leggings, sweater, UGG boots combo (typical Long Islander outfit I'm afraid) and got a manicure/pedicure with my sister...Essie color Luxedo which is a dark purple. I love it and it made me feel good that some girl asked me what color it was and then swapped her polish choice for mine.
I also got these Kate Spade earrings from my Dad/Mom/Sister as a little pick-me-up and token of good behavior? Hmm, either way it was a really nice gesture and I absolutely love them. Kate Spade emulates a classic and all-American style that I love, very girl next door, which is how I see myself.

Anyway, I have a ton on my mind tonight so I am going to continue to think (way, way, way too much) and then sleep because I am going to Florida in the morning to visit my Grandma! It's going to be very different this year since my Grandfather will not be there--but I know he will be looking over us watching us.
How do you guys deal with stress, loss, lack of inspiration?
Maybe I will consult D and get some outfit posts tomorrow!?!
Have a great Holiday, hopefully I will be able to blog from Florida!
