Alex & Eli

While I was working from home yesterday (LONG DAY! internship: researching buyers for a client, school work: readings & responses) I came across a brand I have never heard of before...a brand that I am now IN LOVE with (prefect month to be in love with something may I add)...ALEX & ELI.

Bio:
Alex & Eli was created by two Parsons graduates, Anna Zeman and Aja Singer, who had worked with designers like Zac Posen, Carolina Herrera, Rodarte and Chado Ralph Rucci early on in their careers. These two creative ladies design tailored suits for women searching for the perfect balance of elegance, class, and androgyny.

My take on the line:
The line features structured blazers and buttons downs, drapey trousers, silky blouses, fitted leather slacks, riding-inspired pants, and sky-high black heels...even better? The line takes on an urban-earthy feel using mostly shades of white, black and gray and sticking to muted olives, tans, and peaches. With all the "masculinity" associated with this line I love how most of the clothes have zippers (there is something sexy about a well-placed zipper) and all the models are sporting coral-colored nails, which is just so flirtatious and feminine.

Lookbook:

What do you guys think? Do you love it like I do? Or is androgyny not really your thing? I love to mix slouchy and tailored masculine pieces with girly details, like a coral nail or a bit of sparkle.
Happy Tuesday everyone!
