The Party

I need some help! Tomorrow is my friend K's graduation party and I have no idea what to get her; to make matters worse, I'm on a limited budget (aren't we all). Oh, and it's also her twin sister's grad party too (do I get her something as well?). Ah! What to do. WHAT. TO. DO. Any ideas--pretty, cheap, thoughtful...all three qualities wrapped into a little white box with a red ribbon would be wonderful :)

Another party I am attending this weekend--the arm party! I had one this week and let me tell you, it's hard typing and banging away on a keyboard all day with a massive arm party--I think this trend is perfect for the weekend though; no unnecessary bits of writing, no periods of silence only to be disrupted by the bang of my bangles against a desk or keyboard. Yes, this weekend is perfect for an arm party...I quite like this one...

  1. Haha I participate in arm parties quite often! :D Hmm gifts...You could always give a restaurant gift card or go through the Target dollar aisle and pick up some random neat doodads they may enjoy :)

  2. Haha I had no idea what an arm party was, but it turns out that I have one quite often. You're right though, it can be crazy annoying... which is why I kinda avoid them when I'm going to school or working.

    As for the gift... hrm. No idea. I suck at those kind of things lol.

  3. Arm party! Yay! I need to make some more bracelets to wear but I'm with you sometimes it does get kind of annoying. My wrist is really small so sometimes I think a bunch of bracelets look awkward but I still love the way it looks on other people!

    Hope you have a great weekend Cassie!

  4. Oh my gosh I love your arm party :). Can you be my personal stylist? haha. You could always get her a little beauty package type thing- like a makeup bag and fill it with little goodies like nail polish, lip gloss, etc. Target always has good ones that are cheap!

  5. Haha, I love "arm parties," what a great name! But I never wear bracelets some reason. But I always have a couple hair elastics around my list (often enough to have a tan line there)--does that count? I want that clutch in the picture!

    As for gifts, hmm. Handmade is always the cheapest and most meaningful--I know painted glasses are "in," so maybe pick up some acrylic paint, some cheap wine or drinking glasses, and paint the outside with a nature pattern, things related to their areas of study, something each girl really likes, or something that represents your friendship?

  6. arm parties sound fabulous ;) you crack me up, but you're so right!

    as for good grad gifts, give her a great new coffee table book for her new apartment...maybe for whatever city she's in or moving to? just something to think about!

    hope you have a great weekend :) xoxo {av}

  8. I love this idea! You make me laugh pretty lady :)
    Perhaps a framed pictures of the two of you? Or something else to do with pictures? I usually make collages for gifts and they turn out wonderfully

  9. I love a good arm party! I usually end up taking them off when I am at my desk, so I completely agree with you that they aren't the best idea when you have a desk job! Especially when they're noisy.

    Hope you were able to find the perfect gift for your friend's graduation!
