I Know it's Sunny but...

For some reason I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I have been trying to keep my thoughts on graduating to the bare minimum (acknowledging that I must apply for jobs, buy my cap and gown, move out of my beautiful beach house that I share with my three best friends) but I just can't keep anything inside any longer. Despite the beautiful weather that I woke up to, after a weekend filled with wind and rain, I just can't put a smile on my face. In the past I have let my emotions dictate my entire day, not anymore! I am determined to make myself happy and here's how:
  1. Buy fresh flowers: I love Gerber daisies!
  2. Phone a friend/loved one: even a little 5 minute chat can make me smile
  3. Nail polish: nothing like a bright, cheery red to improve my mood
  4. Clean, dance, sing: spring cleaning while blasting GLEE

Any recent grads have any advice on how to cope?
What makes you smile on an off day?

  2. I remember feeling that way when I graduated from college. It's a big change so of course there will be ups and downs, but do not let yourself believe that college was "the best days of your life" and it's all downhill from here. I had an even better time in my twenties than I did in college. Stay busy!

  4. I am in the SAME boat. It's so hard, but I'm just trying to enjoy this time and not let it fly by while I'm all sad and ish. That won't make for good memories!

  7. All those things are great pick me ups. Graduating is tough - - wasn't easy for me (or anybody else my year...2009 was ROUGH, haha). The best advice I can give is to keep your head up, and know that you're just shifting into a new thing - it doesn't mean you can't take all your favorite parts of school (ie the community, your friends, the places you went, the stuff you loved to do) with you! You'll be fine, lady. :)

  10. When I'm having an off day I love to blast a favorite song or two and dance my heart out for a few minutes-- it usually helps, haha! My friend Angela also has a mix she made of upbeat songs for days like yours!

  13. Great options! I hope they worked. I definitely paint my nails, listen to music, maybe go get a massage. Oh and I'll treat myself and eat whatever I want. LOL.

Hope things turn around really soon :)
