Ballerina Bun

I have been wanting to try a ballerina bun for a while now...I always hide behind my long hair though. It's always been a type of security blanket for me. Usually my long, wavy, brown hair can hide all of my discomfort and apprehension to a situation; but recently I have been wanting to break out of my shell. What better way to expose myself then to have my whole face on display for the world to see? Okay, at least on display to the state of Rhode Island. Today I am wearing:

Cardigan: GAP, T-shirt: GAP (pocket style), Harem Pants: Forever21, Flats: GAP, Necklace: gifted from Grandma

Does anyone else hide behind their hair?

Chambray-Chunky-Knit-Silk-Leather

I am wearing so many different fabrics/textures today--and I love it. I usually am pretty skeptical when it comes to mixing and matching prints, textures, colors, etc. I think it comes from my thought that I can't pull it off. However, I have come to find that personal style comes from stepping outside the box every now and then, trying and blending polar opposites, hoping to pull everything together into a cohesive look. While I am definitely not the most stylish, I can see myself evolving and becoming more confident in my outfit choices which is a huge goal of mine; being able to wear whatever my heart desires, picking something up in a store and reinventing the way I wear it (multiple wears/multiple uses)! So why not blend chambray, silk, cotton, chunky knits and leather? Today I am wearing:
Blouse: Chambray (label unknown-bought at Marshalls), Leggings: The Girls, Boots: BASS Outfitters, Sweater: American Eagle Outfitters, Scarf: OSCAR by Oscar de la Renta, Belt: borrowed from Mom, Necklace: initial chain (gifted from Aunt L), Earrings: Street Vendor (China Town, NYC), Watch: Michael Kors (not pictured).

Rough & Tough

Today was a really rough day...long, long, long! I'm sorry for the lack of explanation, I am just EXHAUSTED. However, one person really brightened up my day, don't you love that? Someone that can just break through the wall and make you smile, even if only for a little while? At my internship I wore:
Dress: Target, Leggings: Target, Turtleneck: Ralph Lauren, Boots: Bass, Necklace: initial on silver plate (gifted from Aunt), Watch: Michael Kors

See you all tomorrow!
Hope everyone had a great day!
By the way...S is back, thank the Lord!

What's on Your Head?

Hi!!! Thank you all so much for your sweet comments on my Valentine's Day post! I really do feel like it's a day to celebrate all types of love, not just the romantic kind...although I can't wait until I have a special guy in my life that I can share it with! But I have this theory that when you are in love, everyday seems like Valentines day (maybe I am just a HUGE romantic...oh well!)
Anyway, my post is called "What's on your head?" because I felt like I was getting weird looks today when I wore my silk scarf as a head wrap. Yes, I know I am probably being paranoid and yes, I have been Google-stalking Nicole Richie (now Madden...is it now Richie-Madden?) and I can't get enough of her bohemian look. It seems like she has every scarf made by the late Alexander McQueen, and I am insanely jealous of her collection of beautiful silk. So despite my attempt to channel Nicole Richie (maybe I failed?) and my need for Spring (there are flower details on the scarf), I still tried to act confident while walking around my windy and cold campus! My outfit consisted of:
Jeans: Forever21, Sweater: Gap, Scarf (worn as a head wrap): OSCAR by Oscar de la Renta, Flats: GAP, Necklace: Initials on Silver plate (gifted from Aunt)

Do you ever feel like people are staring at you for some of your fashion choices?
Am I just being paranoid?!
Have a great Tuesday, I am off to get some homework done...boo!
