Friday Fancies

The weather has been so beautiful lately...almost "flip-flop" weather. I would love to be strolling down the cobblestone streets of SoHo in this outfit. What is your dream outfit, if money were no object? Link up with {av} for the Friday Fancies game on her blog {long distance loving}:

Friday Fancies

So I have never done this "Friday Fancies" thing before, but I am up early and about to get ready for my internship, dreaming about what I would wear if I had billions of dollars leaving me with a wardrobe fit for a....celebrity? socialite? Okay, a wardrobe fit for Cassie Strum...oh hey, that's me! This Friday Fancies game was created by {av} over at the blog {long distance loving} check it out for daily inspiration and romantic stories about her long distance love affair...it's a daily read of mine...and she's a fellow Rhody!

Today my Friday Fancies is inspired by a new resort collection I am completely OBSESSED with...Tucker by Gaby Basora. Tucker had a line for Target a few years back and I wish that I scored some of there notorious patterned pieces...but no, I had not jumped on the Target bandwagon yet, it's a life long haul for me now...I love Target.
Anyway, inspired by Tucker's new designs AND my desperate need to escape the cold, I present you all with my "Destination: Spring Break Vacation Friday Fancies Collection."

Shoes: Sam Edelman Kasi Woven Wedge Sandal, Jeans: American Eagle Boy Fit Crop, Blouse: Tucker Classic, Belt: 32mm Hermes, Bag: Sorial SV0509 Small Bucket

What would you all be wearing if money was no object? Head over to {long distance loving} and play along with us!
Happy Friday!

Camera Creeping like Crazy

I NEED WANT A NEW CAMERA...but the ones I am looking into are so expensive. Okay, okay, when I say, "looking into" I mostly mean typing "good digital SLR camera" into Google and seeing $800-$1,000 options which leads to my next thoughts, "no way compadre!" I know nothing about photography (except that one class I took in high school for my art credit) but I do know that I love taking pictures when I am on vacation, out with friends, and doing outfit posts for my blog...my Nikon Coolpix is just not cutting it. Every time I take a picture it looks pixilated and blurry so I must resort to the help of my friends cameras or use Mac Photobooth (which is decent but not the quality I am looking for). You see, I am a perfectionist, I need everything to be just so, and although I am learning to roll with the punches of things not being "perfect," I think having pride in the pictures I blog and post about is important. Therefore I need your help! What kind of cameras do you use? Where did you get them? Is eBay even a place to consider looking? I would ideally like something at the lower end of the camera-price-range...oh and easy to use because I'm a novice-beginner-so-make-my-life-easy-please-help-me-kind-of-girl!
Last night I met up with some friends at the bar. It's always nice to catch up over some red sangria...then white sangria...then tequila shots? Maybe I should cool it? It's my last semester though and classes didn't start yet, I think this makes it okay. Last night I wore:
Blazer: Dalia Collection (with leather wrap belt), Leggings: clearance at Marshalls (with leg zipper detail on back), Blouse: Mossimo for Target (silk blend), Boots: Sam Edelman, Watch: Michael Kors, Necklaces: gifted from Aunt

Gothic Sparkles

Last nights StyleWeek Providence was a lot of fun. I saw two great shows, one by Karen Beebe and another by Samuel Vartan. Beebe's show was very feminine with tons of sparkly fabrics & polka dots and filled with short jumpers & dresses. Vartan's show was very gothic inspired; low cut pieces in leather, lace and velvet.
While I was going through my blog feed I saw how Ramsey from Love, Ramsey is doing a "pantless" challenge, essentially wearing skirts and dresses instead of pants...pretty self explanatory right? (Check out her site to see how she's doing!) Anyway, the point is that I was definitely inspired to wear a skirt to the show tonight. While this body-con skirt that I am wearing doesn't seem so..."appropriate" for an internship, I think that since it is for a fashion show event, and I am wearing a long tunic over it makes it more..."acceptable"? Tonight I'm wearing:
Skirt: H&M body-con, Tights: Target, Tunic: Adrienne Vittadini, Belt: borrowed from Mom, Socks: stolen from Dad, Boots: Sam Edelman, Watch: Michael Kors

The Runway
My favorite look from the Karen Beebe show
Awesome draped black lace head wrap from the Samuel Vartan show

Friday on a Sunday

I know, I know, I'm a little late with this outfit post...and this is my first OOTD (outfit of the day for you amateurs reading!) post in what seems like forever. This is what I wore to the bar on Friday night:
Gap silk kimono blouse, Forever21 dark wash jeggings, Silver buckle belt (borrowed from my Mom), Sam Edelman black boots (not pictured but seen here).
So I'm back from my little overnight road trip to UMASS to visit my sister. There were a few road blocks (once I was there, not on the road thankfully). But despite all our little tiffs (aka the road blocks) in addition to some bickering, I have never been so proud of my sister before. She has overcome so much this year and I am just such a happy big sister...and now I'm getting a little homesick. Hopefully the February InStyle, a hot shower, catching up on some blogs that I love, and some organizing will help me feel better! Tomorrow is my first day at my internship, working the event StyleWeek Providence so I am extremely nervous! I am definitely doing an outfit post tomorrow so check back!
What do you do to get over homesickness?

Road Trip

I may or may not post again later because I am heading to AMHERST for the night to see my sister and parents! I can't wait to see them (even though it's been about a week) and do some shopping! I will report back with my purchases. Oh, I am returning the Rampage boots...the Sam Edelman's win! I wish I could look this classic and chic while road tripping, but I guess that's why I live in the real world, not a Tommy Hilfiger ad! Have a great Saturday!

Marshalls Boot-y

It's no secret that I love the store Marshalls! The store has discounted designer clothes, shoes and accessories and I have a serious addiction. I think I can go there every single day and find something new. Well today was the day I found two pairs of shoes and I couldn't put either down. I bought both which is totally out of character for me, I tend to be a bit very frugal and have a case of martyrdom when it comes to buying new things (especially when people are buying me gifts!); I really need to love something to buy it. With all this said I will be returning one pair of shoes...but which ones? Please help me out! I need some different perspectives.
