How I'm Spending My Weekend

I'm so happy that it's the weekend; I have been stressed out so much over the past few days it will be so nice to just relax and appreciate the simple things...the really simple things.
I want to thank all of my fabulous readers--your comments and emails have really helped me get through nervous breakdowns about graduating, finding a job, taking fashion risks, and embracing new changes.
I am also happy to report that I have surpassed 100 followers! I never thought this would happen and I am so grateful to everyone who reads/comments on Candidly Cassie! Like promised, my giveaway will be up on Tuesday so please come back and check it out!

This is how I want to spend my weekend:
  • Dancing in my BCBG Wedges (bought at TJ Maxx for $15)
  • Smelling the sunflowers (which I will be buying at the farmer's market!)
  • Browsing for the perfect white button-down (I like this one from Martin + Osa)
  • Relaxing with a stack of magazines (So happy funny girl Tina Fey is on the April cover of InStyle, which I haven't gotten around to thoroughly reading yet.)
  • Going out for dinner and drinks with friends...because a girls gotta laugh...laugh a lot!

How are you spending your weekend?

Friday on a Sunday

I know, I know, I'm a little late with this outfit post...and this is my first OOTD (outfit of the day for you amateurs reading!) post in what seems like forever. This is what I wore to the bar on Friday night:
Gap silk kimono blouse, Forever21 dark wash jeggings, Silver buckle belt (borrowed from my Mom), Sam Edelman black boots (not pictured but seen here).
So I'm back from my little overnight road trip to UMASS to visit my sister. There were a few road blocks (once I was there, not on the road thankfully). But despite all our little tiffs (aka the road blocks) in addition to some bickering, I have never been so proud of my sister before. She has overcome so much this year and I am just such a happy big sister...and now I'm getting a little homesick. Hopefully the February InStyle, a hot shower, catching up on some blogs that I love, and some organizing will help me feel better! Tomorrow is my first day at my internship, working the event StyleWeek Providence so I am extremely nervous! I am definitely doing an outfit post tomorrow so check back!
What do you do to get over homesickness?

Happy Saturday

I know it's only 10:30(ish) in the morning but I already feel so productive. I went spinning (in my basement, couldn't make it to the gym this morning due to snow), finished Kelly Cutrone's book If You Have to Cry Go Outside and Other Things Your Mother Never Told You, and made my To-Do List for the day. Definitely read Kelly's book if you are interested in the Fashion Industry, Public Relations, or Just want some motivation and inspiration. I have so much to do before I go back to school on Monday; I am going back early so I can start my internship...I can't wait to post about that later this month!
Here is what I'm loving today...
InStyle February 2011 Edition (about to go purchase), Kelly Cutrone's Book (READ IT!), Pretty Bicycle (better than my stationary bike in the cold basement), Sparkling Water Lime flavor (best drink ever), Essie Nail Polish (manicure later today!)

Dear Ms. Bradshaw, Can I Have Your Life?

I have met very few girls who haven't been obsessed with the following things: fashion, Sex & the City, New York City, finding love, living glamorously, and having a close-knit group of friends. Well...Carrie Bradshaw (obviously played by my girl SJP!) seems to have it all, what all girls want and I am obsessed with having one day.
It seems a little repetitive amongst "fashion" bloggers...who doesn't want to be like Sarah Jessica Parker's character? Besides having all the things that most girls are obsessed with, Carrie works as a columnist for Vogue, has best selling books (basically pondering what the heck men are all about), and is a walking fashion goddess. I want all of this. I want to write about love, life, fashion, travel, inspirations. I want to find the boy (I mean man?) of my dreams! I want to travel to exotic places, soaking up the culture and lifestyle. I want to have a close-knit group of friends once I leave my little security blanket crew in college. I want to dress with no regret, testing the boundaries, wearing big flowers on my dresses and birds on my head (maybe not the bird thing exactly, but hopefully you get my reference). The point is I want so much and I don't know how to get there and accomplish my dreams.
I think this upcoming second semester senior status is really starting to freak me out. My friend Chris knows, I literally talk to him all the time about my fear of graduation, how I don't know what I will become or what I will do (Thank you so much :) Chris this is your shout out).
So while this was my post to pay tribute to my idol Carrie Bradshaw (I know she is a television character but I can't help but want to be her, just a little bit...or a lot), I had to get all this frustration off my chest, and I feel a little better.
If you made it all the way through this post, thanks for reading. And now, a little CB inspiration.
