Post-Grad

Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of posts over the past few days. I have been in a constant state of movement; graduating from college, celebrating with friends, packing up my house in Rhode Island and moving back into my home in New York. It's been a whirlwind of emotions (a laughing/crying mix) and I promise I will be posting regularly from now on. I also have an exciting giveaway in the works so I'm bracing myself for some awesome things to come! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and a great Monday!

Hey all! This is a picture packed post so I will keep the words down to a minimum. First off, a huge thank you to the lovely Julie at Haute Khuuture because she sent me such a lovely tunic and ring (I won her giveaway! :) Please check out her blog because it's awesome!

 

I wore the tunic she sent me last night to one of my sorority sisters bachelorette party. I just added some wedges and a leather belt to complete the outfit. Thanks again Julie!

Today I am going to dinner with two ladies from my internship! It's a French-Mediterranean restaurant in Providence so I am keeping it laid-back dressy (does that make sense?):

Sun-shiny Day

Don't you love the spring? I sure do. I woke up this morning to birds chirping and let me tell you something, I haven't seen such a pretty, sun-shiny morning in quite some time. Spring really does bring out the best in me...for starters just putting on a spring-time outfit puts me in a good mood. I love seeing the bold pops of color everywhere I look, and how can a girl be anything but deliriously happy when she is twirling around in a flowy dress holding a bunch of sunflowers that she just picked up from the Farmer's market? (hopefully this happens this upcoming weekend!). Anyway, how great is this picture? I love the salmon color cropped pants, the rustic belt and the gingham print top! I think I found my outfit inspiration for the day!

Miss. Meliss Giveaway!

Ladies I am so excited to post about my 1st giveaway! I never thought I would surpass 100 followers...but I did and I have all of you lovely and wonderful people to thank!

I got lucky, while I was trying to plan out a big way to say thanks, a very talented sorority sister of mine named Melissa offered to gift one of her fabulous screen-printed t-shirts to one lucky reader! 

Melissa started her t-shirt line, Miss. Meliss this year; the goal of Miss. Meliss is to provide girls with an easy way to express their love of the fashion industry. Why you ask? Melissa told me:

"Every day I find myself 'All Tied Up In Love.'" 

Although she has studied fashion design and worships the likes of Betsey Johnson and Diane von Furstenberg, she would rather create something original which, she totally loves instead of,

"making changes to other designers hard work and creativity!" 

...so Miss. Meliss was born!

How I'm Spending My Weekend

I'm so happy that it's the weekend; I have been stressed out so much over the past few days it will be so nice to just relax and appreciate the simple things...the really simple things.
I want to thank all of my fabulous readers--your comments and emails have really helped me get through nervous breakdowns about graduating, finding a job, taking fashion risks, and embracing new changes.
I am also happy to report that I have surpassed 100 followers! I never thought this would happen and I am so grateful to everyone who reads/comments on Candidly Cassie! Like promised, my giveaway will be up on Tuesday so please come back and check it out!

This is how I want to spend my weekend:

• Dancing in my BCBG Wedges (bought at TJ Maxx for $15)
• Smelling the sunflowers (which I will be buying at the farmer's market!)
• Browsing for the perfect white button-down (I like this one from Martin + Osa)
• Relaxing with a stack of magazines (So happy funny girl Tina Fey is on the April cover of InStyle, which I haven't gotten around to thoroughly reading yet.)
• Going out for dinner and drinks with friends...because a girls gotta laugh...laugh a lot!

I'm Back...and I want some Banana!

It feels amazing to be back home, but Spring Break was a ton of fun and I can't wait to share my pictures with all of you! Thank you so much for all of your comments while I was away--I had the biggest smile on my face when I finally checked my blog after being away for a week (I was really starting to miss reading/sharing posts with all of you--can't wait to catch up, it's been TOO long!) Anyway, silly me forgot to bring my camera cord home so I will have to do a picture post later in the week. But don't think I am leaving you hanging...obviously I have some news to share. One, I am doing my first giveaway this week so keep checking back (sneak peak: it's from a new line called Miss Meliss). And two...I am absolutely in love with all the spring shoe trends at Banana Republic right now--cut outs, suede, two-tone earthy colors, metal hardware, floral details; the perfect mix of feminine detailing and masculine edginess.
