Red Nails and a Smile on My Face

So I just went to Health Services and I...just have a cold (whew! I was getting worried). Spring break in the Bahamas, I am ready for you!! Today is a freezing-cold day and yet again I would love to thank Rhode Island for having bipolar weather tendencies, can it be sunshiny and warm instead of cold and rainy? This is my attempt at layering...I have been so inspired by the bloggers at Atlantic-Pacific and See Jane, am I getting better at this unappreciated art form?

Sweater: GAP, Button-down: Chambray from BASS Outfitters, Leggings: The Girls, Boots: BASS Outfitters, Watch: Michael Kors, Barrett: Century 21, Nail polish: OPI InStyle Red

Stay warm!

Come on Spring!

Hey guys! You know those mornings when you wake up and you are in a great mood? Well today when I woke up the birds seemed to be chirping (it didn't even annoy me), the sun was high in the sky, there was fresh frosty snow on the ground, and weather.com alerted me that today would be a high of 32 degrees. All these things contributed to my great mood...I feel spring fever coming on. Don't you love it when the shift of winter to spring starts becoming a little more noticeable? Hurry up, hurry up!!! I want sandals and seersucker shorts, bikinis and fedoras! Anyway, this is what I am wearing today:
Cardigan: H&M, Button Down: Bass Outfitters, Jeggings: Forever21, Boots: Boutique in NYC, Hair Clip: Urban Outfitters, Necklace (gifted)

What is your favorite thing about Spring?

Long Overdue

Sorry for the really horrible pictures, they were taken on photobooth on my Mac...sadly my photographer and best bud S is vacationing in Florida for a few days, hanging out with her beau (oh Valentine's day, how you make me smile and dance around like fool!). Anyway, here is what I am wearing to my internship today...I need to make this post quick because I am dropping off the look books I just assembled to a client (oh the jobs of an intern working at a fashion PR firm...hey I'm not complaining!)
I'm wearing:
Leggings: Target, Boots: Bass, Long Sleeve: Target, Tunic: Adrienne Vittadini, Belt: Borrowed/Gifted from Mom, Watch: Michael Kors, Scarf: Walmart

Sweet cowlick right?
Side Note: How much are you loving NYFW? I just can't get enough!

Wind in my Hair

Yesterday was a beautiful and sunny day in Rhode Island (it's about time!) We have been pounded with snowfall after snowfall leaving the roads icy and my driveway a heaping pile of treacherous frost. Something clicked yesterday in more ways than one...the sun was shining, the snow was melting, I productively did my homework, worked out, did laundry, took pictures with S, got a Valentine, watched the Superbowl, and had a casual drink with friends at night! Nothing says Sunday like a pitcher of white sangria split amongst friends! This is what I wore to the beach and also out at night. It was one of those laid-back yet edgy looks that I could get away with at a bar. I'm wearing:
Cardigan: Bass Outfitters, T-Shirt: GAP pocket T, Leggings: Converse for Target, Belt: Leopard print by GEORGE, Boots: Bass Outfitters, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelet: Nordstrom's

Anyone else getting excited for NY fashion week?
I posted about DVF yesterday and am absolutely inspired by drape and color lately. That's so weird for me, I usually stick with an earthy palate.
Who do you love? Is your taste constantly changing too?

Last 1st Day

So today is my LAST 1st day of undergrad, how is this even possible? Although it feels as if time has passed by quicker than I could ever have imagined, I feel as if I accomplished a lot during my 3.5 (so far, almost 4) years at URI. I am not going to sadly post about my fears for the future (although I can't promise that won't happen eventually), but instead I will happily and excitedly tell you all that my roommate S took some great shots of me for your viewing pleasure. Just looking at the quality of these pictures makes me smile! It is so much better than my Photo booth Mac application, the pictures are so crisp and clean!!! Anyway, she has agreed to become my official blogging photographer so here we go blogosphere--I will only post clear and pretty images of myself for the rest of our union (which I hope is forever, because I thoroughly enjoy you and my blog friends!) I am wearing:
Vest: Mossimo for Target, Stripped T-shirt: American Eagle, White Long Sleeve: Target, Leggings: The Girls Leggings (from Marshalls), Leather Boots: Bass, Belt: gifted/borrowed from Mom, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelet: H&M

Don't you love dressing up for the first day of classes for the semester? What do you like to wear?

Black, Brown & Blue, Oh My!

Hey Guys! I am running out but I wanted to do an outfit post! I am heading to the mall with two of my friends/fellow volunteers from StyleWeek! I dressed up (a little) because who knows where we will end up...we are going to Providence after all. I never thought I could wear navy blue, black and brown at the same time but I guess I proved myself wrong. Today I'm wearing:
Blazer: Dalia Collection, Tunic: clearance rack at Marshalls, Belt: gifted from Mom, Leggings: Target, Boots: boutique in NYC, Watch: Michael Kors

Trail-Blazer

I finally get to display my new blazer! I just love blazers...love, love, LOVE! They add instant polish to any outfit, and I just feel so grown-up when I wear one. This blazer that I am wearing is from Target, can you even believe that? I love the pinstripe lining, and the long boyfriend-esque fit. Although it is a little loose it is still fitted in the chest and shoulders so it still looks really feminine.

Blazer: Mossimo by Target, Knit T-shirt: Ecote (from Urban Outfitters), Black Jeggings: Forever 21, Boots: BASS, Necklace: Aqua (from Bloomingdales)

Recycle Clothing

Hey, so you know how I posed before about my love of vintage? Searching through racks and racks of clothing, finding pre-worn treasures, creating new history with once loved pieces?
Well...when I come home sometimes I feel as if I am vintage shopping in my house. My sister and mother have massive purges of clothing--bags, shoes, pants, jackets, shirts--EVERYTHING! So when I come back I get piles and piles of things to sort through and try on...I LOVE IT!
Today I spent a few hours cleaning up the house by bagging up and donating our fabulously used/worn/loved clothes and shoes to our nearby Y (and by the way, it feels so good to donate, I recommend it!)
However, I did snag some things out of my sisters pile and I am wearing it right now.
Sorry if the clarify of the pictures are not so great, the lighting in my room at home is horrible, I must start taking actual digital pictures again, it's just hard because I don't have a tripod and I am self-timer-challenged (not that anyone really cares!)
Any-who, this is what I have on:
  • Op black leggings (a la Walmart)
  • Bass tall black riding boots
  • Thin black and gold studded belt (borrowed from D)
  • Vintage Stavana gray sweatshirt tunic (gifted from D)

This blog break felt so great. Since my life had been consumed by finals for the past week it's nice to have time to post again...I will be back tomorrow, I am off to work on my resume and job applications for the future (I just turned 21, why is this happening already!?!)
xoxo
