Some Thing-A-Ling's

A few things..

1. I am on the brink of figuring out who the heck I am...I've been told "discovering" myself comes with time, experience and travel. My Euro-trip has been postponed due to my new job and my attempt at pinching pennies so I can move into the city soon-ish.
2. As much as I want to move in to NYC I must admit, I'm TERRIFIED! I love being home and the comfort of it all. My parents are amazing and always there for me, the fridge is always stocked and I can lounge around without a care in the world...did I mention it's FREE!
3. I am scared that as a post-grad I will never find a group of friends to replace the amazing people I left after graduation. I had such a tight-knit group up in RI. Now that my friends and I aren't in the same state anymore I can't help but feel terrified and lonely. 
4. I bought a new bracelet today, I painted my nails in Essie's Wicked, Princess Diaries is on ABC Family and I am having some delicious vanilla/chocolate/peanut butter fro-yo with cinnamon puffins for dessert...okay, my life is pretty darn good (ending on a happy note).

I can't believe this is my 100th post! While part of me wants to explain how much I love blogging and what it has done for me, I won't...(you can read my declaration page for that). However, I want to gush a little a lot *happy dance* for one small but MAJOR reason. I want to gush about all my amazing readers and followers. You seriously do not know how big of a smile I have plastered on my face when I read your comments...it is truly one of the greatest feelings I have ever experienced. To know that some of you are just like me: interested in fashion and styling and approaching it from a laid-back "this-is-a-jog-not-a-sprint-learning-experience-let's-take-our-time-and-see-what-works-for-us" mentality, not a competition: trying to out-buy, out-wear, out-post, and out-follow (I guess that means get more followers?) fellow bloggers. I appreciate the relationship we have been building and I can't wait to see it's progression, this tight little community is something that I really treasure...okay, sappiness over.
I will be posting twice today, an OOTD post later, but I wanted to make this one separate...a tribute to my lovely co-bloggers and readers! So what are you posting now, Cassie? Well let me explain, this is just a little collage (I use that term loosely, one of my first attempts with these "collages" on blogger) of things that are getting me through this week. I have been thinking so much (over thinking actually) about the future, I just need to appreciate what is going on now.

Funny picture outtakes (aka mirror shots), studded bracelet (disclaimer: this doesn't fit in the equestrian and/or GI Jane categories), cozy nooks that I create in my bed, Forever21 Red nail polish (borrowed from J-9), LeSportsac paisley messenger bag to carry all my books to school (borrowed from Grandma! haha), inspirational sayings that remind me of what's important (gifted from Mom!), organized closet.

How do you relax? What de-stresses you?

Copper Lee

I have always loved jewelery ranging from big, colorful statements to small and delicate pieces. Despite my love for jewelery I tend to wear the same things daily, diamond studs and my Michael Kors watch. Last night I read up on Lulu Frost, an awesome jewelery line started by Lisa Salzer while she was in college; she completely inspired me to start creating my own original pieces. Why not right? I am feeling creative and I need an outlet...BOOM, my motive!
This morning I went out and gathered some materials. Since I am completely self-teaching myself I went into the store like an ostrich with my head in the sand. I stood in every aisle contemplating what to buy...what do I need? What do I even do? After about 45 minutes I left with some pliers, beading wire, hooks & clasps, and two colors of glass beads. I spent a few hours today playing around with some beading patterns, twisting wires, and attaching clasps (which are all much more difficult then I ever thought or anticipated).
My first piece is rather simple. It is a double strand twisted bracelet (bead colors: black and gold-copper). Since I officially created my first piece I decided I had to name this little line of mine...COPPER LEE. It blends my love for the natural and shimmery color copper and my middle name which is Lee. I also decided I am going to only use black, copper, silver and gold beads and wires for these pieces. I tend to stick to more basic, simple, and easy to match clothes so why not jewelery too?
What do you guys think of the bracelet? What should I make next?
