Hey, It's Okay...

  • to eat a bag of microwaved popcorn only to go back for seconds on a rainy Friday night (...and then declare that you are swearing it off forever...again)

  • to spend an entire day reading your Nook Book color (right now: The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer)
  • to stand outside for a few minutes when it's drizzling to feel the rain hit your face
  • to wear the same jean shorts until they are too stretched out and you get "saggy butt" (or you spill something on them)
  • to drive all the way to Whole Foods just because you need some more xanthan gum
  • to visit the same Marshalls three days in a row, in hope that you missed something hiding in the racks the day before
  • to almost get "misty-eyed" when your blender mysteriously stops working
  •  to drink two protein packed smoothies a day, just because you want NEED some chocolatey-frostiness-in-a-cup
  • (recipe: 1 scoop chocolate protein powder, 1c. vanilla Almond Breeze, ~1 spoon of xanthan gum, 1 packet of stevia, 2c. ice, 1/4c. water AND BLEND :)
  • to realize that focusing on yourself doesn't make you selfish, it makes you smart
  • to dance in your car...even at stoplights
  • to read seventeen magazine, even if you're in your twenties :)

Can I get an amen? AMEN!
Have a great weekend!

Home-Work

One of the benefits of working from home is comfort. I can wake up, head to the gym, eat and prepare a well-balanced meal and sit in comfortable clothes all day--which is why I have been slacking in the OOTD posts recently. To be honest, I've become obsessed with food blogs! O-B-S-E-S-S-E-D! I can't get enough of the pictures of melty, mouth-watering HEALTHY concoctions, and now I just love posting my own attempts (key word being attempts).
For breakfast today I put another spin on my oatmeal:
1 serving size oats // 1/2 cup blueberries // 1/4 banana (cut) // 1 spoonful of chunky peanut butter // 1 spoonful of grape jelly // tons of cinnamon
Ohhh so delicious!
I found the secret: microwaving my oats, then adding about 1/4 c. of blueberries in, mixing it around, microwaving for another minute then adding everything else in. The result was like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich...brought out the little kid in me :)

Today will be filled with work, heading to Whole Foods to buy Xantham Gum (to make my smoothies THICK! Inspired by Julie GoLean and Peanut Butter Fingers). Weirdly enough, Trader Joe's doesn't carry it. Oh and check out this video for a really great laugh- Happy Monday!

My Sees-tur is Here!

Hey guys! My sister and I have been reunited for less than 24 hours and have already had so much fun! We had a delicious lunch at the Whole Foods cold bar (seriously amazing, I encourage everyone to go ASAP!) and went on a MAJOR TARGET RUN! I got a new pair of Dolce Vita for Target wedges...they are so comfortable (I wore them last night to a party that I took my sister to). We never have "gone out" together in the past and I'm glad we did last night because we had such a great time!--I'm so glad we have gotten so close over the past few years; I guess growing up really does bring siblings closer together, we used to fight ALL the time!
Today we are going on a beach walk (hopefully I can snap some pictures), heading to Brewed Awakenings, a coffee shop, to get some homework done and heading to the Purple Cow, this awesome jewelry boutique in town!

What's everyone up to this weekend?
