Floral at Formal

Last night was my last college formal...
It's bitter-sweet to say the least but I am so glad I got to spend it with my lovely and beautiful friends (I mean sisters!). Today is my last formal chapter meeting too; tons of "lasts" this weekend! I wanted to share a few pictures from last night. I wore:
Dress: Allyn Paige New York // Shoes: BCBGenergation // Clutch: via Marshalls // Bracelets: NYC Boutique, Tiffany & Co., Gifted from Aunt

I hope everyone is having a wonderful and lazy Sunday! It's finally sunny, let's hope it lasts!

A Ladies Luncheon

Today I am off to Boston for my internship--I will be attending a luncheon at the Colonnade Hotel, watching a fashion runway showcase for one of our clients Avni. Avni is an awesome eco-friendly designer; she uses the prettiest natural dyes from India for all of her garments! Hopefully I can take some pictures to show you all! (Just in time for Earth Day too!)
I wasn't sure what to wear to a luncheon. Do I even have appropriate clothes? So I did what any fashion-forward-clueless-college-girl-dressing-for-a-luncheon would do...I Googled "luncheon outfits worn by Kate Middleton." Who does "classy-lady-at-a-luncheon" better than KM? I was inspired by a few of her looks, here's my take:
Top: Verve, Skirt: Merona for Target, Boots: Boutique in NYC, Belt: Unknown, Watch: Michael Kors, Ring: Store in the Dominican Republic (also gifted from sister)

Does anyone else GOOGLE...
when special occasion outfit inspiration is needed?

Rainy Day Plaid

I woke up this morning to the not-so-gentle pitter-patter of rain drops...I heard the howling wind, felt the subtle shake of my (rented) beach house and looked out the window to see the rough crashing of waves against the shore of Bonvue's little beach. A while ago I decided that flannels and plaid perfectly accompany rain--soft, warm, and comfortable these pieces are my rainy day staples; naturally I broke out the plaid today. And in case anyone wants to know what music meshes perfectly with days like these...Florence + The Machine.
I'm Wearing:
Cardigan: GAP, Flannel: Forever21, Turtleneck: Ralph Lauren, Leggings: The Girls, Boots: NYC Boutique

How do you feel about rainy days? Hate/Love? Love to Hate? Hate to Love?

Like a (Hair) Virgin, Touched for the Very 1st Time

So after yesterday mornings post I did a ton of thinking! Yes, I did try to apply the "steps" and while it did get me thinking about many things I noticed that I do way TOO much for other people; basically I let other peoples ideas/beliefs get in the way of my own. Although I think this is just something all 20-somethings go through, that cliche "discovery"/"finding myself" phase, I can't help but want to do something to break the cycle...so I dyed my hair. Me, the indecisive and predictable girl did it; problem is, you can barely notice a change. I guess my dark brown hair was too much for the lightest golden brown natural instincts hair dye product (any suggestions how to go lighter without breaking the bank? I really want to change it up!). Besides the hair-dye-fail, I decided to mix up my food/meal routine as well (strange again) and made a delicious chocolate smoothie last night for dessert (totally making it again tonight!) and went out last night to socialize with friends I never see; senior year is weird for me--I feel like I never see anyone anymore. Between my homework, internship, job applications and "me" time I rarely have the energy to see old friends--this is all changing! What did I wear last night to the local college bar? I felt more NYC than Narragansett, RI but I loved it nonetheless:

T-shirt: GAP, Blazer: Dalia Collection, Jeans: Forever21, Belt: GEORGE, Wedges: Nine West, Earrings: NYC boutique

How do you change "it" up? Whatever that "it" may be?
Any hair-dying suggestions?
